Building upon the insights of the resource-based view and internationalization theories, the purpose of this paper is to examine the role networks play in SMEs' readiness for internationalization. Using primary data collected from 210 Chinese SMEs in Beijing and Hong Kong, regression analysis was applied to test associations between networking behaviours, resource availability and internationalization patterns. We use a data set of 4446 small- and medium-sized firms extracted from Funderbeam and logit regression models to test five hypotheses about internationalisation. Published 1988.
